Upper arm contouring

Upper arm contouring can help correct the appearance of excess fat or sagging skin in the upper arm area that does not respond to exercise or weight loss.

During the procedure, excess tissue is removed and the skin is tightened to create a more defined and even contour of the upper arm. This helps achieve better proportions and a more comfortable sense of self in everyday life.

The result is more toned upper arms that blend naturally with the rest of the body.

About the procedure

You are a good candidate for this procedure if you have

  • excess skin in the upper arm area resulting from weight changes or aging
  • loose tissue resulting from significant weight loss, such as following bariatric surgery
  • fat accumulation on the upper arms and resulting skin laxity
  • poor skin quality and/or stretch marks
  • a desire to achieve toned and slimmer upper arms

Before the surgery

  • Have blood tests done, and if you are over 50 years old, you must also have an electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • To achieve the best results, stabilize your weight before the surgery
  • Before the procedure, the doctor will mark the incision sites on your skin with a marker, explain the procedure, and discuss the expected results

Duration of the surgery and important information

  • Upper arm plastic surgery takes about 1–2 hours and is performed under general anesthesia
  • During the procedure, excess skin and subcutaneous fat tissue are removed from your upper arms; if necessary, liposuction is performed on the entire upper arm area. A drain may be left in the incision if necessary.

Recovery

  • After the surgery, you will spend one night in our cozy private clinic, where our professional staff will take care of you
  • The day after surgery, a doctor will examine you and provide recommendations for wound care, reducing swelling, and pain management. The sutures will be removed 10–14 days later
  • To achieve the best results, you must wear a compression garment. Initially for 4–5 weeks continuously, then only during physical activity
  • We recommend taking 1 week of sick leave to recover from upper arm plastic surgery
  • You can begin light physical activity after 1 week. You can return to full physical activity 4–6 weeks after surgery
  • The final results are best seen approximately 6 months after surgery, once the body has fully recovered

Book a consultation

A consultation is the beginning of every outcome – a place where we make the first important decisions together.

During this process, you will receive a doctor’s assessment, understand your possibilities and limitations, and gain a clear overview of what kind of outcome is realistic. If necessary, this also means making a decision not to intervene, as every decision must be justified.
