Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)

Gynecomastia is a condition in which there is an increase in breast tissue volume in men, which can affect body proportions and self-esteem.

During the procedure, excess glandular and/or fatty tissue is removed to restore a more masculine contour to the chest area. This solution is suitable for changes caused by hormonal changes as well as other factors.

The result is a flatter, more defined chest area that blends naturally with the rest of the body.

About the procedure

You are a good candidate for the procedure if

  • enlarged breasts but want a flatter chest
  • large breasts that interfere with your daily life and cause discomfort
  • a willingness to commit to lasting results through exercise and a healthy lifestyle

Before the surgery

  • have blood tests; if you are over 50 years old, you must also have an electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • To achieve the best results, stabilize your weight before surgery
  • Before the procedure, the doctor will mark the incision sites on your skin with a marker, explain the course of the surgery, and discuss the expected results

Duration of the surgery and important information

  • Male breast reduction surgery takes about 1–2 hours and is performed under general anesthesia
  • During the procedure, excess skin and subcutaneous fat tissue are removed from your breasts; liposuction may also be performed in the area. If necessary, a drain is left in the incision.

Recovery

  • After the surgery, you will spend one night in our comfortable clinic, where our professional staff will take care of you
  • The day after surgery, a doctor will examine you and provide recommendations for wound care, reducing swelling, and pain management. The stitches will be removed 7–10 days later
  • To achieve the best results, you should wear compression garments for 3–6 weeks. Initially continuously, then only during physical activity
  • We recommend taking 1–2 weeks of sick leave to recover from the surgery
  • You can begin light physical activity after 1 week. However, full physical activity should be resumed only 4–6 weeks after surgery
  • The final results are best visible approximately 6 months after surgery, once the body has fully recovered

Book a consultation

A consultation is the beginning of every outcome – a place where we make the first important decisions together.

During this process, you will receive a doctor’s assessment, understand your possibilities and limitations, and gain a clear overview of what kind of outcome is realistic. If necessary, this also means making a decision not to intervene, as every decision must be justified.
